We regretfully announce that Lana Penny passed away after a difficult fight with pancreatic cancer. A fighter till the end, Lana passed at the age of 42 on February 19, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Lana was born on July 14, 1981, to Charlene and Kevin Penny in Mission, B.C.
For those blessed to have had Lana in their lives, know that Lana was the most caring and generous person you could ever know. Lana was a natural born caregiver and spent much of her life caring for children and adults with special needs.
Lana also loved camping, crafting, and spending time with the people she loved.
Lana is survived by her parents (above), husband, Michael Hammond; her siblings, Chad (Sherri), Laura, Ryan (Jenny), Shawn, Derek and Madison; her children Alex and Hailey; step children, Mary-Anne and Courtney; grandchildren, Anna-Ray, Catalina and Elias; nieces, Ava P, Mckayla, Ava E, AJ and Evelyn and nephews, Riley, Seth and Quintin as well as many any others that became her family along the way.
Her Celebration of life will be held on March 24th in Abbotsford, B.C. at the Legacy Building (3270 Trethewey St.) at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Pancreatic Cancer Research.
