May 1, 1941 - February 11, 2021
With sadness, the family of Linda May Thorpe announce that she passed away peacefully on February 11, 2021 at her home with family by her side.
She was born May 1, 1941 in Penarth, Wales and came to Canada in 1960 after she married the love of her life, Lloyd.
They spent the first few years in Nova Scotia then moved to Vancouver Island where they spent many years in Port Alberni and Victoria. Eventually moving to Mission, BC where they spent the last 30 years.
Linda was a busy mom raising four boys and eventually going back to work where she spent many years at the Pop Shoppe then Mayfair Bowling Lanes in Victoria. When she moved to Mission, she worked for a number of years as the manager for Robins Doughnuts in Abbotsford where she eventually retired. In her spare time, Linda was an active member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Royal Canadian Legion both in Victoria and in Mission.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd, sons; Wayne, Dale (Tracey), Craig and David (Sandy), grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her brothers Robert (Sue) and Rowland (Sandra), nieces and nephews and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when we can all get together again.
If family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion - 32627 Logan Avenue, Mission, BC V2V 6K4 or any or Royal Canadian Legion of your choice.
