HAYES; Lizbeth Faith ( Dranchuk)

Born December 20, 1953 in Edmonton, Alberta. Known as Liz to most and affectionately as Lizzie to many, passed away May 15, 2016 in Fairview, Alberta at the age of 62 after a brief illness that led to complications of the heart. Left to mourn are her son Garth, daughter-in-law Megan, her two granddaughters Emma-Lea and Kaycee, mother Anne Dranchuk, siblings Wanda Tiger, Lois King, Brian and David Dranchuk, and her extended family; Hugh, Karen, Ryan, and Angie. She also leaves to mourn her sister-in-law Sandra Grayson to whom the family wishes to express their heartfelt thank you for the unwavering love and support she provided to Liz before and during her untimely passing. Liz is predeceased by her loving spouse Kelly Hawkins and father William Dranchuk. She was the second of five children raised in Ruskin, where she spent her childhood and early teen years. When the family relocated to Mission during her senior year of high school Liz moved to Alberta, and subsequently to Saskatchewan where she resided for many years until settling in Fairview. A country girl at heart, she had an immense love of animals, particularly when it came to her dogs. It was not uncommon for her to take in one or more strays at any given time. There was always room for one more puppy. She will forever live on in our hearts, and in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. In keeping with Liz's wishes her ashes will be placed next to those of her beloved spouse Kelly, and there will be no formal service. Those wishing to celebrate her life are encouraged to make a donation to the S.P.C.A. in her memory. That we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.
