In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Lynn McGregor (née Simpson) who passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2023 at Langley Memorial Hospital, Marwood Centre Long Term Care facility after a five year battle with dementia.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, grand auntie and sister.
Predeceased by her parents Vincent and Beatrice Simpson, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ian, son Stuart and daughter Stacey; grandchildren Kian, Hannah, Taylor, and Cade; brother Richard Simpson; sisters and brother-in laws Karen Simpson and Lynn, Trish, and Paul McGregor; nieces and nephews Jennifer, Kyle, and Reid McGregor and Andrew, Kristofer, and Rachel Simpson.
A graduate from the UBC Faculty of Home Economics with a major in Dietetics, she put her expertise to good use as head of Product Development for the White Spot division of General Foods Canada. Her tenure was cut short by her first pregnancy, and she shifted priorities to devote her time to her family.
A relocation to Edmonton was a bit of a shock for Patricia, however she adjusted to the cold weather and stuck it out for 12 years until the family relocated back to the West Coast.
Once back in B.C., she reconnected with White Spot and KFC personnel and started as assistant manager of the full service QSR White Spot/KFC restaurant in Surrey. An opportunity soon presented itself, and she accepted a position as manager of a new franchise KFC in Mission B.C., which she ran successfully until her retirement in 2009.
Through it all she loved her many times in Hawaii, Palm Desert, Europe, and Kelowna. A true Vancouver girl she loved the beaches at Ambleside, Third and Second beaches, and English Bay, and a glass of wine on a nice patio.
She will be sorely missed.
