January 1, 1942 - October 9, 2023

Born to Jim and Doris Darlington, Robin spent his early years in Quebec before moving to North Vancouver as a child. Robin was an avid car enthusiast and spent his youth evading trouble with older brother Pete, who died in July 2023.

Robin is survived by his five children, Andrew, Leanne, Debbie, Angie and Shelley.

His work with LG Electric brought him to Mission / Abbotsford area where he began selling real estate in the 1980s. There he met his partner in life and business, Kay, (McDonnell, Theodore). They married October 1, 1989, and Robin became a stepdad to Tracy, Cameron, Terri and Troy.

Robin was a prominent member of the real estate community, running Sutton Group Central Valley Realty. In 1993, he and Kay sold the business, jumped in an RV and eventually arrived in San Jose Del Cabo Mexico, where they made it their home.

Robin kept busy building their dream home, crafting a place for family and friends. 4 p.m. was happy hour on the deck, where the drinks and stories flowed freely.

Robin and Kay were wonderful hosts and welcomed many for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners over the years. He loved being called Grandpa Robin and had 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He and Kay gained a reputation for rescuing dogs and cats, many of them they re-homed, but several others they kept and loved. Kay passed away in 2020, leaving a huge hole in Robin's heart.

He spent his last years with his wonderful friend, Carol. The family will be forever grateful to her for watching over him and making his last years happy.
