Roger Jean, 52, left us suddenÂly on October 26, 2006. Roger will be dearly missed by Marilyn, his best friend and wife of 28 years; his son, Michael; his daughter, Christine and his grandson, Collin. Predeceased by his father, Roland, his mother, Raymonde, and his brother, Marcel, Roger was an integral and vital part of two large families. He was born in Mission, BC, where he spent his early years and established himself with BC Liquor Stores as a clerk, then a highly respected manager. His work took him to stores in Oliver, Langley, Aldergrove, Clearbrook, and Abbotsford. Those lucky enough to run into Roger during their day always left with a smile on their face; he truly loved people, a love that came from deep within his heart. Above all else, Roger loved his family, immediate and extended. He was their Âprotector, their confidante, their supÂporter, their friend, their source of wisdom, hope, and love. Roger was a man of great courage, sly humour, gentle spirit, and all who knew him will miss him.
Funeral service for Roger Motut will take place Friday, November 3, 2006 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 32550 – 7th Avenue, Mission, BC. There will be a viewing prior to the service at the same location from 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm.
“And we wept that one so lovely should have a life so brief:
Yet not unmeet it was that one, like that young friend of ours,
So gentle and so beautiful, should perish with the flowers.”
