COERS; Tina Catherine. (nee Fast)
Following a brief but very brave battle with cancer, Tina passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour with her loving husband at her bedside on March 22, 2014. She was a dedicated wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, friend and neighbour who will be deeply missed by her husband John of 57 years, four sons; Ken (Conny), Jim (Lucy), Carl (Christine) and Steve (Chris); 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; siblings Anni, John (Mary), Arnie (Maria); and sister-in-law Carol. Pre-deceased by her brother Hank. Tina was born on August 14, 1937 in Alexanderfield, Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada with her family as a young child, where they settled in Arnold, BC. She met John Coers in 1954 and they married on October 6, 1956. They eventually settled in Sumas Prairie and started their own family dairy farm on Cole Road April 1, 1968. Many years later they retired from farming in November 1996. Her door was always open to family and friends with a cup of coffee and something baked. She enjoyed many activities which included travelling and camping, shopping for bargains, bowling (43 years), watching curling, knitting, baking, and reading. Tina had a strong faith and she was involved in a variety of activities within her church, including dedicated support of their missionaries. The family would like to extend our very sincere thanks to the staff and volunteers at Christine Morrison Memorial Hospice. A celebration of Tina's life will be held on Friday, April 4th, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Grace Church, 2087 McMillan Road, Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideons or a charity of your choice.
