The family is sad to announce the passing of Bill, a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He died peacefully, after a lengthy illness, in the early morning of Monday, May 28th at the Mission Hospice.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Edna Wood, his mother and father-in-law, Frank and Sylvia Clease, as well as a nephew, Kenny. Surviving Bill is his loving family; wife, Diane, sons Scott (Keri) and Chad (Alysia) and his grandchildren, whom he treasured so very much and who gave him such endless delight: Brayden, Lily, Jaxton and Preston.

He is also survived by one brother, Bob ( Gloria ) of Calgary, his sister-in-law, Elaine (Mel), two brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Don, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill spent all of his adult life in Mission. He began his working career with what was then called the Town of Mission, retiring from the District of Mission in 2004 as a Utilities Foreman.

He enjoyed golf and curling . . . but his 'passion' was in caring and maintaining his beautiful yard . . . not a blade of grass out of place, nor a wayward leaf on his perfectly manicured lawn.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. de Klerk and the dedicated nurses of both the Abbotsford and Mission Hospitals, and for the wonderful care shown by the nurses and staff of the Mission Hospice in Bill's final days.

In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be no funeral service. It would be greatly appreciated if those wishing to do so, would donate to the Mission Hospice Society or the B.C. Lung Association.
