William J. "BUD" Child

Born in Chilliwack on the front porch during a snowstorm to Bill & Jenny Child. Predeceased by wife of 50 years, Donna (nee Graham), sisters Jean McCann and Betty Kildare. Survived by children Lynn (Paul), Wendy, David (Amanda), Penny (Clyde), his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bud had a long career as an automotive engineer / engine builder, with a wide reaching reputation, particularly in the racing community. He opened Engines Unlimited in 1964 on Commercial Dr. in Vancouver, subsequently becoming High Performance Engines Ltd. in Burnaby where Bud & Donna raised their family. Inducted into the
Greater Vancouver Motorsports Pioneers Society in 2002, Bud retired and moved to Mission in 2006 to be closer to family.
Bud was proud of, and greatly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, instilling values of hard work, the importance of family, honesty and respect for others.
