LETTER: Election leaves little hope

In search of quality candidates to vote for in the upcoming municipal election

I’m not especially happy about the quality of candidates running.

There are some good people running in my local elections. But there are too many people running that are just retread politicians whose shelf-life has long since expired.

As well, as the three members of the “slate” who promised great things last time, and only produced the most dysfunctional council that my town has ever seen, have cobbled together a new slate which promises to be no better than the original one was.

Throw in those running on “family values” – which is a far too narrow world view to be worthy of my vote – there is little to be hopeful about this election for mayor and council given the majority of those running this time out.
