LETTER: Greenway raises concerns about accessibility

I live just above the greenway and walk my dog almost everyday along 7th Avenue. I have seen two cyclists use the greenway, a father and his son one weekend in the summer.

I am mostly concerned about the fire truck being able to get through as there is no where to move over. The overkill on signs is ridiculous, especially near the businesses in front of the Leisure Centre. You don’t need a crosswalk from the bike area to the sidewalk.

One thing I do like is the extra crosswalks. I can now cross over safely to the basketball court area near the fire hall. It has definitely slowed traffic down with the greenway.

The only greening of this area I have seen is green paint for cyclists. No plants have been added only more cement, signs and paint. It was a big expense with little reward. Please be careful with your future decisions.
