LETTERS: Thanks for all the support

Riot of Reading Literacy Fair celebrating Family Literacy Week in Canada was held on Saturday at Ecole Central Elementary School.

The 14th annual Riot of Reading Literacy Fair celebrating Family Literacy Week in Canada was held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at Ecole Central Elementary School.

A fun and interactive day for families that included a magician with magical literacy, face painting, balloon animals, story-telling, dancing, door prizes, and our MC “Index Jones” and his side kick “Crocodile Dewey Decimal.”

This free event was widely supported by the community with over 550 people in attendance. The support received from service organizations and community partners goes a long way in ensuring the Riot of Reading Fair is possible.

We want to thank Mission Friends of the Library, the Optimist Club of Mission, Mission Community Services, Starbucks Coffee, Mission City Pizza, Mission Public School District, and Mission Public Library for their support. We would also like to thank Johnny Williams for the Official Opening, our MCs Paul and David Horn and all the performers, face painters, mascots and volunteers.
