Four Mission hockey squads battling at provincials

A quartet of Mission teams are spreading throughout the province with banners on their minds.

The Mission Stars peewee rep team, fresh off a final four win in Burnaby last weekend, are in  Dawson Creek to battle the eight other teams left standing at the provincials.

The peewee’s opened yesterday. against the host team from Dawson Creek, and then square off with Whitehorse this morning.

The Stars then take on Fort St. John on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. to close out the round robin.

Championship games occur on Wednesday and Thursday.

A pair of bantam teams from Mission are also battling for a banner this weekend.

The Stars bantam A1 team is in Cranbrook. The team plays Kamloops today at 12:30 p.m. and the host Cranbrook on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Championship games occur on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Stars bantam A2 also punched their ticket to provincials last week, and travelled to Revelstoke. They played Revelstoke on Sunday and now face  Clearwater this morning and Vanderhoof on Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. Championship games are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

Mission’s midget rep team travelled to Terrace, and opened against the host team on Sunday.  The Stars then battle South Okanagan and Whitehorse. Championship games are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
