Mission swimmer Brent Hayden, coming off an Olympic bronze medal in the 100-metre freestyle on Wednesday, fell short of the final in the 50m free.

Hayden finished seventh in his semifinal on Thursday, clocking a time of 22.12 seconds, 0.49 seconds behind Brazil’s Bruno Fratus.

He’ll wrap up his London Games with the 4x100m free relay, which begins Friday with the heats at 3:49 a.m. Pacific time. The finals are Saturday at 12:27 p.m. Pacific.
