As kata competitions finish up at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreational Center, athletes have risen to the ranks and past through to the semi-finals now look forward to defending their position for gold, silver, or bronze in the Finals tomorrow.

Those competitors will have to perform tomorrow for the finals in the Karate BC Games. The kata matches are as follows:

Intermediate Girls Kata Semi-finalists:

Alyssa Chong of Zone 5 against Bryana Spur of Zone 5

Natalie Van Grol of Zone 4 against Jeanine Looman of Zone 2

Intermediate Boys Kata Semi-finalists:

Steven Tran of Zone 5 against Edwin Gonzales of Zone 5

Chandan Teja of Zone 3 against Adam Doucette of Zone 2

Advanced Girls Kata Semi-finalists:

Angie Wakelin of Zone 4 against Gwynduline Tingey of Zone 5

Jamina Sawal of Zone 5 against Alexandra Chan of Zone 5

Advanced Boys Kata Semi-finalists:

Thomas Huen of Zone 4 against Jacob Mand of Zone 4
