Nitro Circus landing in Abbotsford in May

Popular action sports event tour bringing ‘You Got This’ tour to Rotary Stadium

The Nitro Circus is coming to Abbotsford in May.

The action sports event company recently released the schedule for its ‘You Got This’ tour, and Abbotsford’s Rotary Stadium is set to be invaded by the group on May 9.

The event features some of the best athletes in the world in BMX, FMX, skate, scooter and more.

The Nitro Circus concept began through a series of DVDs released to the public during the early 2000s. Strong sales from those DVDs led to the creation of a television show that appeared on both Fuel TV and MTV. The popularity on television then led to Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D, which was released in 2012.

Created in 2010, Nitro Circus has since travelled across the planet, playing to sold-out stadiums on five continents.

The Nitro World Games also ran from 2016 to 2018 in venues in the United States, United Kingdom and France. The Games featured competition in rallycross, FMX, BMX, kick scooter and skateboarding.

The show in Abbotsford will also feature stunts off the world-renowned Giganta ramp – one of the largest action sports ramps in the world. Giganta is 40-feet tall and was revealed to the world in 2016.

Nitro Circus has an impressive social media following with over 11 million likes on Facebook, 2.8 million followers on Instagram and 273,000 followers on Twitter.

Abbotsford is the fourth stop on the tour, and is one of only two Canadian stops on the 11-city run. Hamilton, Ont. is the other stop for the event north of the border.

Pre-sale tickets open on Friday at 10 a.m. Those who want pre-sale access must sign up through the Nitro Circus website.

There is also the opportunity to purchase VIP tickets, which include a mic’d up chance to hear the athletes as they perform, a Q&A session with performers and early entry to the event.

Doors open for VIP ticket holders at 4 p.m., with general admission gaining access at 5 p.m. The action is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Ticket and VIP ticket prices were not yet made available to the press.
