Mission Marlins swimmers competed against the top athletes in the province during the BCSSA Provincial Championships held in Richmond, Aug. 19-21.
Four of Mission's swimmers brought home medals from the competition. Elena Huyghe won a silver medal swimming freestyle on the division 1 girls regional relay team. Haley Klenk won gold medals in the division 1 girls 50 m freestyle, the 100 m freestyle and 50 m backstroke, as well as a bronze in the 100 m individual medley and a silver swimming the backstroke on the regional relay team.
Kyle Klenk brought home a bronze with the boys division 3 regional relay team, swimming backstroke, while Christina Diewold clenched a gold in the division 5 girls 50 m freestyle, and a bronze in the 100 m backstroke. All results are available at www.bcsummerswimming.com.
