Callie Swan of Prince George had an amazing performance at the U16 female 500-metre short track speed skating finals on Friday morning at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre.
She breezed through all her races and her semi-finals to take the final gold medal with a great time of 0.49.98. Second and third was a tight race. Bekky Clemons of Chilliwack took the silver beating out Dominique Hawkenson, also from Chilliwack by eight one hundredths of a second.
“It feels really exciting,” Callie said after her win.
