Trio of Mission gymnasts place at Western Canadian championships

Results helped Team B.C. men and women earn first place

Twelve Twisters gymnasts competed at the Western Canadian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Winnipeg last weekend, including three from Mission.

The competition was stiff, but they managed to bring home 11 individual medals and two team gold medals. Team B.C. on both the women’s the men’s side earned first place.

Individual Mission results are as follows:

• Tamara Skulstad (Provincial level 4 Tyro): gold on beam and floor, silver all-around;

• Justine Robinson (Provincial level 4 Open): gold all-around, gold on vault;

• Ashlynn Skulstad (National Open): eighth on floor; qualified for finals, in which she placed fourth; 10th all-around.
