Abbotsford is the city in the country fostering a pristine, agricultural hotbed. Abbotsford historic downtown, fresh farms, local specialties all thrive among the Fraser Valley mountains and a view of Mount Baker in the distance.

The 10-km Discovery Trail links east and west Abbotsford while the 2.2 km Mill Lake Loop is an easy walk. Mountain bike enthusiasts will find Sumas Mountain offers a full spectrum of trail options.

Abbotsford hosts world-class events including the world-renowned Abbotsford International Airport, Tradex, the University of the Fraser Valley and the Abbotsford Centre. Get a feel for Abbotsford vibrant agricultural community at the Agrifair. The Gur Sikh Temple, built-in 1911, is a national historic site, while Clayburn Village is even older, established in 1905.

Abbotsford’s downtown plays host to the Berrybeat Festival in July and the Historic Downtown Abbotsford Car Show in August. It also offers shopping options from charming retail boutiques to vintage stores. Shoppers will also find that Sevenoaks and Highstreet shopping centres provide myriad retail choices. Abbotsford is home to four craft breweries (Field House, Ravens, Old Abbey Ales, and Loudmouth). As well, we are home to four wineries (Mt. Lehman, Singletree, Lotusland and Ripples) and a plethora of dining establishments from fast, to family to fine dining.

Getting here

Abbotsford is easily accessible by car, transit or plane, from Highway 1 or Abbotsford International Airport.

Driving: From Vancouver, the drive is about an hour heading east. If you are coming from the United States Abbotsford has its own US border crossing at Sumas.

Flying: The Abbotsford International Airport offers hundreds of flights to fly you in and out. Airlines include West Jet, Air Canada, Flair, Sunwing, Swoop.

Transit: Take a scenic train ride from Vancouver to Mission, BC with the West Coast Express and then get on the #31 bus in Mission which will bring you to Abbotsford. Or take the Fraser Valley Express from Langley which will bring you to Highstreet Shopping Centre and McCallum Park and Ride. ;
