A large crowd turned out for the Earth Day Picnic at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission on Sunday.

Mission residents helped celebrate Earth Day at the sixth annual earth-friendly, zero-waste pot luck dinner at Fraser River Heritage Park on April 22.

A large crowd attended the event which asked people to bring one dish of food plus their own non-disposable plate, cutlery, mug and napkin.

The event was hosted by the Mission Be The Change Action Circle, a small group of citizens working towards creating an environmentally and economically sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling human presence on Earth.

Co-hosts were Building Resilience In Mission and the Mission Environmental Stewardship Society.
