Mission residents will be able to hop down to Griner Park on Saturday (April 8) for a free family-friendly Easter egg hunt.
United Way – Hi Neighbour Cedar Valley is hosting its first Cedar Valley Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cherry Avenue location.
The egg hunt event will also feature crafts, potato sack races, a book scavenger hunt, a long boarding demo and more.
United Way will host the event in collaboration with Mission Literacy in Motion, Family Smart, SARA for Women, Fraser Valley Regional Library, Habitat for Humanity, Landyachtz, Cedar Valley Church, Fraser Valley Métis Association, Emergency Support Services, Rotary Club of Mission, the Mission Arts Council and Tourism Mission.
The Easter Egg Hunt is United Way’s latest collaboration with partner organizations contributing goodie bags, hosting games and craft activities. The organization previously hosted a swing dance, a Halloween event, board game nights, exercise classes, Diwali celebrations and block parties.
United Way is looking for volunteers for event set-up, support and take down, with 400-600 children expected to attend. Those interested in helping with any upcoming events can contact United Way community builder Stefany Tunshell at StefanyT@uwbc.ca or at 778-757-3412.
