Pedestrian dies after collision on Gladys Avenue in Abbotsford

A 35-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night (Sept. 12) on Gladys Avenue in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford Police Department responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on the 33000 block of Gladys Avenue just before 11:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, APD discovered the man suffering from serious injuries. First responders began to provide aid, but the man couldn’t be resuscitated and succumbed to the injuries.

Police say the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. According to an APD news release, impairment was not a factor.

Gladys Avenue was closed near the collision as the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service attended to collect evidence. The road is now back open to the public.

The APD Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the incident and urges those with dashcam footage or information to call 604-859-5225.
