The Mission RCMP are looking for the owner of three red jewellery boxes, after a good Samaritan turned them into police.

The boxes were found sitting near Superstore at the 32000 Block of Lougheed Highway and were turned into the RCMP office on Oct. 7.

Police conducted a search of their internal database and could not match the items to anything reported missing in their system, according to an Oct. 13 press release from the Mission RCMP.

One box has a snake symbol in the middle, one has a dyed wood exterior and one has a velvet-like exterior. Various contents can be seen in one photo, including watches, bracelets and dice-shaped earrings.

If anyone recognizes anything in the photos that can help to identify the owner, they are encouraged to contact the Mission RCMP non-emergency line at 604-826-7161, or if they wish to remain anonymous, can call BC Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
